Committees

This is a team of members helping organize and plan the MTCPA Annual Conference for each June. They handle everything from selecting speakers and topics, helping to find sponsors and exhibitors, and assisting on-site at the Conference.

This committee selects recipients for various awards, recognizing outstanding achievements and contributions within MTCPA, ensuring that excellence in the accounting profession is celebrated and acknowledged.

The Board of Directors serves as the leadership for the Society. Guided by our Strategic Plan, board members discuss issues facing the profession and help ensure the Society continues to make an impact into the future. Members serve a three year term, where they attend quarterly meetings to provide staff with advice and direction.

This team addresses ethical issues, provides guidance on ethical practices, and ensures members adhere to the profession’s code of conduct, fostering trust and accountability within the MTCPA.

This group provides insights, guidance, and updates on federal tax laws, regulations, and policies, helping members stay informed and compliant with the latest tax developments.

For 2024 the Financial Literacy Committee is reforming to tackle a specific ask from the Montana Department of Agriculture.  The group will create a presentation resource for CPAs to use to teach small ag related businesses the basics of accounting and bookkeeping. 

This group helps organize MTCPA’s annual Governmental Conference each May. This team selects relevant topics, engaging speakers, and helps secure sponsors for a valuable and informative event for professionals working in the governmental sector.

This group helps organize MTCPA’s annual Industry Conference each March. This team curates relevant topics, secures expert speakers, and helps secure sponsors in order to deliver a valuable and insightful experience for accounting professionals in various industries.

This team advocates for MTCPA members’ interests, provides insights on policy changes, and engages with government officials to influence positive outcomes for the profession.

This team provides resources, support, and guidance to help new members integrate into the community and make the most of their membership.

This team evaluates peer review reports, provides feedback, and supports continuous improvement within the profession.

This team identifies emerging topics, selects qualified instructors, and designs engaging courses to meet members’ evolving educational needs.

MTCPA’s BAR Group is a niche group of accounting professionals aged 35 and younger who are striving to create more opportunities for up-and-coming CPAs.

This team provides insights, guidance, and updates on state tax issues, helping members stay informed and compliant with the latest developments in state taxation.

This committee coordinates efforts with high school, colleges, and universities to promote the profession to students.  Ideal participants for this committee would be student leaders, teachers, those who recruit on campus, and those who manage on campus recruiting efforts for schools.
