Allen Lloyd, Montana Society of CPAs
Allen Lloyd is the Executive Director of the Montana Society of CPAs, where he works everyday to inspire, empower, and impact MSCPA members to achieve professional excellence. Prior to joining MSCPA, Allen worked at the Ohio Society of CPAs in a variety of roles and as a firm administrator for a local firm in Ohio. He is not a CPA, but he has been working with CPAs for over 10 years and does everything he can to promote and protect the profession.
Allen grew up in a small town on the Ohio river where he rode his bike all summer, something he is happy to do again in Helena. He is married to a CPA and has two boys who like to be outside on the trails.
James Lindell, Thorsten Consulting Group Inc
James (Jim) T. Lindell is the President of a Wisconsin based provider of strategic & financial consulting, professional speaking, training, and executive coaching. Jim has an extensive background in senior management including positions as Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Assistant Controller. Jim has worked with a variety of industries including: manufacturing, health care, not for profit, distribution and food processing. He has been involved in more than 50 M & A projects. James Lindell is a Certified Public Accountant with public accounting experience at several local and regional accounting firms. Jim is a recipient of the Certified Speaking Professional designation. The CSP is the highest designation that can be earned by a member of the National Speakers Association. He is a TEC Chairman (The Executive Committee). He is a member (and instructor) of the American Institute of CPA’s and the Wisconsin Institute of CPA’s and a member of the National Spea kers Association. Jim is the author of the AICPA book – “Controller as Business Manager,” and author of the AICPA courses: “AICPA’s Annual Update for Controllers”, “Strategic Planning: A Simplified and Workable Approach for Private Companies” and “AICPA’s Controllership: 25 Critical Lessons from the Trenches.” Jim also authored and was part of the AICPA video and course, “Minimizing the Effects of a Recession on Your Business”. He is a contributing author of the AICPA course “The Fast Close, Soft Close, Virtual Close? Now Days, not Weeks”. Jim is a 6-time recipient of the AICPA’s Outstanding Discussion Leader Award. Jim is a member of the folk music group “Deep Pool”, coach of the boys’ high school rugby club and still plays “old boys” rugby.
Tommy Stephens Jr, K2 Enterprises LLC
Thomas G. Stephens, Jr., CPA.CITP, CGMA Tommy Stephens received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree (Major in Accounting) from Auburn University in 1985. In 1992, he earned a Master of Science degree (Major in Finance) from Georgia State University in Atlanta. Presently, Tommy is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Information Technology Professional, and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. During his professional career, Tommy has gained valuable experience in a variety of positions, including: • Working as an auditor and technology consultant for an Atlanta-based public accounting firm; • Leading an Internal Audit staff and managing a Cost Accounting team for a Fortune 500 company; • Serving as a Chief Financial Officer for an international engineering organization; and • Founding and managing his public accounting firm that provides accounting, tax, and consulting services to individuals and a variety of small and emerging businesses. In 1995, Tommy began authoring and presenting continuing professional education courses to accounting and finance professionals. In 2003, he affiliated with K2 Enterprises, and in 2007, he joined the firm as a partner. To date, he has lectured internationally on subjects such as internal controls for small businesses, technology strategies, computer hardware and software applications, tax strategies and compliance, and financial accounting standards and applications. Over the past twenty-five years, Tommy has presented over 2,700 educational sessions to over 70,000 participants throughout the United States and Canada. Presently, Tommy resides in Woodstock, Georgia, where he enjoys an active personal life with his wife. His hobbies include snow skiing, fishing, running, and other outdoor activities. Tommy maintains professional memberships with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. Additionally, he is a past member of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
