WILLIAM V. ALLEN, Jr., CPA (The Audit Wizard), is currently a Principal in Making Auditors Proficient, inc. (MAP). MAP provides training, technical assistance, and other services to local CPA firms throughout the United States and Canada. Its specialty and unique approach to the various services it provides, including peer reviews, is its proficiency in audit effectiveness and efficiency using a risk-based approach. Bill is also a Sole Practitioner in The Villages, Florida. Through this practice Bill provides peer reviews to over 100 firms throughout the United States. Bill is a recognized expert in Single Audits (Government and Non Profit). He was the Audit Partner for the City of Los Angeles audit from 1985 to 1991. He was also a Partner in a Local Firm in northern California with responsibility for over 50 small and medium sized government audits. Bill has taught auditing at Florida International University and the University of Miami. He has also written several publications and been a featured speaker at many conventions and meetings. He is an AICPA top discussion leader and has received Discussion Leader Awards from the AICPA and the state societies of Florida, Wyoming, and Illinois. Bill is currently a member of the FICPA Peer Review Committee and is a past member of the AICPA Government Accounting and Auditing Committee and FICPA Accounting and Auditing Committee.
